Kenneth Brooks and His Story

Kenneth Brooks was born in Milan—a city that breathes art the way others breathe air. Growing up between narrow cobblestone streets and the scent of freshly baked bread, he found himself drawn to one thing more than anything else: flowers.
Not fashion, not modeling, not the glamorous world that Milan is famous for.
Flowers.
Always flowers.
While other kids collected trading cards, Julian collected petals. He spent afternoons watching florists arrange bouquets like quiet masterpieces, fascinated by how something so small could mean so much. So when he got older, he decided he would turn that fascination into something real.He studied floral design in Milan, learning everything from the language of flowers to the stubbornness of certain stems that refused to bend his way. When he finished his training, he worked under a well-known florist—an older man who didn’t smile much, but appreciated Julian’s gentle hands and steady patience. And just like that, Kenneth's path seemed set: a florist in Milan, surrounded by the city he loved. But life has a habit of stirring things up.During a visit to Seoul—the city he’d only heard about from stories his mother told—Julian felt something shift. Seoul was fast, loud, alive in a way Milan wasn’t. It made his heart beat differently.
He returned to Milan, but the thought wouldn’t leave him.
He wanted to know this city. He wanted to grow something there. So he made another bold decision: he packed up his small apartment, said goodbye to his mentor, and moved to Seoul. His former boss didn’t try to stop him. Instead, he placed a single gardenia in Kenneth’s hand.
“You make places bloom,” the old man said. “Do the same there.”
Seoul was overwhelming at first neon, crowds, late-night traffic, a rhythm too fast for someone raised on slow Italian mornings. But Kenneth found his footing, working in a local flower shop while saving money and memorizing the city’s seasons.Eventually, he opened his own shop, a small space tucked between a tiny café and a bookstore, glowing softly at night.
Seoul noticed him slowly but surely.
A small story he never forgets:
On his second week after opening, an exhausted university student walked in, asking for “something that feels like rest.”
Kenneth handed her a bouquet of lavender and chamomile.
She cried right there on the spot.
She came back every month after that, no exceptions.
And that was when Kenneth realized: even in a city that never stops moving, people still need gentle places to land.
